Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about explosive ordnance recovery.

The recovery of anomalies from surface and/or deep sounding is usually carried out with an aluminum shoring in rectangular or round form. With this design we can uncover anomalies up to 6m. Anomalies that are deeper or require special shoring due to the location are excavated under the protection of a large-hole drilling rig or with pressed sheet piling.

Surface sounding is ideal for detecting
objects close to the surface. Here we use passive and active
measuring systems depending on the ground conditions.

It is possible to obtain information up to 3m below ground level
. However, the systems are generally not meaningful in areas with heavy
scrapping.

During volume clearing and sieving, the soil is mechanically removed in layers and sieved. The base and the excavated soil are then detected for explosive ordnance using conventional surface probing. Once the excavation and the base have been cleared, we restore the surface and compact it in layers using roller technology.

Explosive ordnance clearance during construction should be the last resort for the detection and clearance of explosive ordnance. As a rule, we only use this method in areas that cannot be evaluated, or by means of earth-penetrating measures by third parties where probing is not possible in advance, e.g. in pipeline construction or demolition work.

What do we do?
We accompany the work of third parties, e.g. during pipeline construction or demolition work. For occupational safety reasons, we do not accompany pile-driving, pipe jacking using compressed air rockets or track cleaning machines. Please ask us about alternative probing methods for this purpose

24/7 service
Do you need immediate excavation monitoring to ensure occupational safety? In some federal states, we may be able to help you at short notice, depending on the legal situation and capacities.

Depth sounding is used to obtain surface clearances or punctual clearances of foundations. The method is used where the penetration depth of dropped munitions has been determined at great depths.

To carry out the depth sounding, exploratory boreholes are sunk to the required technical depth and fitted with a protective casing. The depth probe passively measures all ferromagnetic objects as a deviation from the earth’s magnetic field.

As a matter of principle, we measure all our exploratory drillings with the most modern 3-axis magnetometer in order to be able to make a perfect evaluation of the surface. Depending on the geological conditions, these boreholes are then sealed again with insulating material.

Our specialists work under strict safety standards and take a systematic approach to minimize hazards. This includes the use of modern technology and methods to prevent hazards and protect everyone involved.

The cost of salvage depends on various factors, such as the scope of the work, the hazardous nature of the material and the location. We will be happy to provide you with an individual quote.

The time frame for recovery varies depending on the complexity of the job. Small search and rescue operations can be completed within a few hours, while extensive projects can take several days.

We implement extensive safety precautions for every salvage operation to protect both employees and the public. All procedures are documented and carried out in accordance with international guidelines.

We specialize in the recovery of all explosive ordnance, including ammunition, grenades and other dangerous objects from the First and Second World Wars and modern conflicts.
